Two vivid, subtle and richly contrasting stories of women in India
Mark Tully was born in Calcutta. For thirty years he worked for the BBC — for more than twenty as a correspondent in Delhi. He now lives and works in India as a freelance journalist and broadcaster. Mark Tully has been awarded an OBE and the Padma Shri by the government of India, a rare honour for a foreigner. He is the author of No Full Stops in India, published in Penguin. These two stories are taken from bis most recent book The Heart of India.
